TIMS

TOTAL INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (TIMS)

Definition: It is a systematic road management tool which is very cost-effective in maintaining the road network and associated infrastructure at an acceptable level of service. It provides appropriate technology and solution which makes crucial information readily available online, thus expediting optimal decision-making.

Design: TIMS is designed to be a highly structured system with straightforward operation, thus allowing effortless access, better and systematic data retrieval by authorized users such as decision-makers, authorities, managers, planners and maintenance teams. It encompasses various processes and sub-system components.

Components: Routine Maintenance System (RMS), Periodic Maintenance Online Reporting (PMOR), Routine Inspection System (RIS), Road Inventory Management System (RIMS) and Geographical Information System (GIS):

Routine Maintenance System (RMS)
A web-based system which monitors the progress of routine road maintenance works.

Periodic Maintenance Online Reporting (PMOR)
A web-based system for monitoring of maintenance works which have specific maintenance schedule.

Routine Inspection System (RIS)
A maintenance module which allows users to determine resource requirements for maintenance activities, deterioration rates, condition levels and appropriate treatment for road defects.

Road Inventory Management System (RIMS)
A database which stores all the details of the various road furniture - their current status servicing, evaluation and proper maintenance.

Geographical Information System
A systematic and user-friendly web-based digital map to monitor and manage the road networks. It provides crucial information such as lot buffers, XY Coordinate, road inventories and landmarks, video synchronizing and reports.
