Roadcare MD in ISAP Technical Meeting

Dato' Hasnur Rabiain Ismail, Managing Director, Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd, in his capacity as a committee member of International Society of Asphalt Pavement (ISAP) took part in its biennial technical meeting held on 11 June 2010 in Parma, Italy.

Meanwhile Ir. Hizam Harun and Cik Hanani Mohd Radzi from JKR-BSFJ as well as Roadcare Deputy General Manger, Pn. Nafisah Abdul Aziz, Roadcare Technical Manager, En. Muhamad Radzif Mat Hassan and Roadcare QA/QC Engineer, En. Mohamed Radzuan Khairuddin attended European Asphalt Technology Association (EATA)’s fourth conference at University Parma, Italy from 14 to 16 June 2010.

Works Ministry Targets At Least 5% Concrete Pavement

Works MinisterBentong, 21 Jun 2010 – Works Minister, Dato' Shaziman Abu Mansor launched the application of Polymer Modified Asphaltic Concrete (PMA) in Padang Tras here today.

He said under the Tenth Malaysia Plan, the Works Ministry has targeted to use at least 5% concrete pavement for new road projects and maintenance.

Today’s launching marks another milestone for federal road concessionaire, Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd, as it has been entrusted to carry out the ministry’s PMA policy for road projects and maintenance. The selected routes comprise FT08 Jalan Bentong - Raub (Section 7.635 – 10.000), FT02 Jalan Karak – Temerloh (Section 185.10 - 186.580) and FT68 Jalan Bentong - K.Lumpur (Section 72.230 - 73.830).

Polymer Modified Asphaltic Concrete Improves Pavement Quality

Works Minister, YB Dato’ Shaziman b Hj Abu Mansor, is scheduled to launch the ministry’s Polymer Modified Asphaltic Concrete (PMA) policy for road projects and maintenance on 21 June 2010 at Padang Teras, Bentong. The RM1.94 million policy implementation is expected to cover FT08, Jln Bentong – Raub, Seksyen 7.635 - 10.00, FT02, Jln Karak - Temerloh, Seksyen 185.10 - 186.58 and FT68, Jln Bentong - KL, Seksyen 72.230 - 72.83. This event signifies the Ministry of Works emphasis on innovation and continuos improvement by bringing new technology and change to improve the quality of life of the people.

PMA is used to improve the quality of pavement. Asphalt cement is the “glue” that holds a hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement together. Polymer modification has been increasingly employed in asphalt concrete, primarily to prevent rutting from taking place.
