FAREWELL DO FOR IR WONG YEN PIN

Putrajaya, 27 July 2005: Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd organised a farewell dinner for outgoing KPPK Zon Timur/ Tengah, Ir Wong Yen Pin at IOI Palm Garden here tonight.

After serving the Public Works Department Malaysia for 31 year, 5 months and 10 days , Ir Wong is due to retire on 29 July 2005. He began his career in February 1974 as an Engineer at the Road Section and was posted to the Kuantan- Segamat Highway project.

The farewell do was attended by Chief Operating Officer of Roadcare,Ir Mhd Najili Sojo; its General Manager, Encik Mohd Khalil Dan; Ir Zulakmal Sufian, Senior Assistant Director, Maintenance Unit (Pavement) JKR HQ; Ir Lai Khin Onn, Senior Assistant Director, Project Management Coordination Unit, Southern Zone; Director, Ikram Research Centre Sdn Bhd, Tuan Hj Nordin Abu Bakar; Director KIP Management Sdn Bhd, Tuan Hj Ghazali Hussin; Roadcare Regional Managers, Area Managers and Managers from HQ as well as representatives from UPPJ and JKR.

Ir Najili described Ir Wong as someone who is generous with his smile but serious in his work. On behalf of the company, he apologized to the latter if there was any mistake made but reassured him that the company would continue to apply all of Ir Wong's guidance.

Senior Assistant Director, UPPJ Selangor, En Razali Che' Embi spoke of a "very gentle and loving" boos who tends to criticize his subordinates indirectly. The post to be left by Ir Wong will be covered by En Razali.

In his speech, Ir Wong said he had a memorable time during his last posting. He thanked Roadcare for organizing the farewell dinner. He also commended the UPPJ staff for their dedication despite the constraints that they face. Turning to his future, Ir Wong said he would take things easy and improve on his golf.

After the speeches, Ir Najili presented a farewell gift from Roadcare to Ir Wong, followed by En Razalli for UPPJ Selangor and En Md Zaid Ali, Senior Assistant Director, UPPJ, Terengganu.

The farewell do ended with a group photography session with Ir Wong and his daughter, who was also present.
