The company commenced operations in August 1999 as a consortium of three well-established companies, HCM Engineering Sdn Bhd, TH Technologies and Muhibbah Engineering Bhd.

Businessman Dato’ Mohd Ibrahim Bin Mohd Nor, 50, was appointed as an additional Independent Non Executive Director of Protasco Berhad on 23 November 2009. His appointment raises the number of Independent Non-Executive Directors in Protasco from four to five. Presently he is also the Executive Chairman of Blu Inc Group of Companies as well as Chairman of both Super Enterprise Holdings Berhad and Malay Mail Sdn Bhd. Previously Dato’ Ibrahim held several key positions in companies such as Padiberas Nasional Bhd (Group MD then Vice Chairman), Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Bhd (Executive Vice Chairman), New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad (Director), Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (Director) and Malakoff Berhad (Chief Operating Officer). Dato’ Ibrahim worked initially in Corporate Banking with Asia International Merchant Bank (now part of Public Investment Bank) and Utama Wardley Bank Berhad (1983-1988). He also sat on the board of various NSTP subsidiaries (1988-1994). In addition, he had also held various positions in The News Straits Time Press (“NSTP) Group including General Manager in CEO’s Office and General Manager, Circulation Department. He received his tertiary of education from both Knox College (1977-1981), Illinois, and Drake University (1981-1982) in the United States with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics (Minor in Economics) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA). |
